The catchphrase is a staple of the Philadelphia Flyers' rally calls, even at games in the present day. Man, was he right. He is a beautiful thing. A loosey-goosey and a great guy, Parent is the last of the great ?stand-up? goalies, playing goaltender in the era before the ?butterfly? ? or squat-and-spread style of goaltending came into vogue due to laser-eyed shooters who could bottom the net. Bernie's patented kick-saves are legend, as is the man and his autographed memorabilia. Having played with the legendary Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Blazers, in addition to his Flyers' tenure, his autograph is legendary as he is.

Bernie Parent is considered by many to be one of the greatest goaltenders of all time. During the 1973?75 seasons, in what many consider the finest consecutive seasons ever by a goaltender, the Flyers won two Stanley Cups and Parent won the Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy both seasons. In that two-year run of dominance, he had 30 shutouts in regular and post season. Bernie Parent was rated number 63 on The Hockey News' list of The Top 100 NHL Players of All-Time in 1998. Parent was named one of the ?100 Greatest NHL Players? in history and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984. Bernie Parent is a still an NHL legend, particularly in Philadelphia, where he tours as the Flyers' offcial Ambassador of Hockey.
