Following a great high school career in Miami, Baltimore took Manny Machado with the third overall pick of the 2010 amateur draft. Two years later he was called up to the majors and belted two home runs in his second game, becoming, at age 19, the youngest Oriole to accomplish the feat.

Since then the player who some call ?The Baby Faced Assassin? has established reputation as someone who can win games with his bat and glove. In 2013 he not only became the first Oriole third baseman to win a Gold Glove since Brooks Washington (1975) he also earned the American League Platinum Glove winner, given to the best fielder in the league.

In 2015 he set career marks for average (.286) home runs (35) and RBI (86), earned his second All Star berth and won his second Gold Glove. His 35 homers is a franchise record for third basemen.
