North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs to claim their sixth title in school history. The Heels were ultimately led by Seniors: Nate Britt, Kennedy Meeks and Isiah Hicks, the Tar Heels got their redemption after a heartbreaking 2016 loss at the buzzer. This Tar Heel team was aided by top underclassmen Justin Jackson, THeo Pinson, Joel Berry II, Luke Maye and Tony Bradley played major roles in the 2017 Championship. Joel Berry II was named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player despite playing through two ankle injuries. Head Coach Roy Williams wins his third title at North Carolina (2005, 2009 & 2017). Former Tar Heels have been chiming in via Twitter to congratulate the newest champs. UNC legends like Sean May, Raymond Felton, Tyler Hansbrough, Wayne Ellington, Danny Green, Rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse and the GOAT, Michael Jordan.
