10 Hilarious Pete Rose Autographed Baseballs

When it comes to Pete Rose, anything is possible. Pete Rose has been a staple in the memorabilia industry since the end of his playing days. Pete has signed more baseballs than he has hits, 4256 to be exact. An autograph from Pete Rose is one thing, but without a witty inscription, is it really a true Pete Rose piece of sports memorabilia. Our staff went through our warehouse to find some of the wackiest remarks signed by one of the best of all-time, Pete Rose.

1. “Sorry I Bet on Baseball”

Top 5 Most Valuable Autographed Rookie Baseballs Right Now

Everyone wants to be first. Collecting MLB signatures is no different. Similar to the stock market, it is a all about when you got in and when you go out for a lot of sports memorabilia collectors and dealers. The memorabilia industry has always had a fascination with the rookies, the new crop of youngsters getting their first crap at the show. Oftentimes these first year pro’s signatures are not easy to come by. The best chance to acquire a signature prior to their first big signing is to follow them across middle America when they are no names trying their hand in the Minor Leagues. Companies can go bankrupt quickly and some can strike it rich after some time, rookies are no different. If we had a dollar, or let’s say fifteen dollars to cover the cost of a baseball, for every time a prospect fizzled out in the minors, we would not have bins full of “batting practice” baseballs in our warehouse. It is a fickle sport and picking which prospect will boom and which will bust is as accurate as aiming for bullseye after a couple Lites.

The 2018 Major League Baseball Rookie class has seen instant production from can’t miss prospects and surprising outputs from “no-name” prospects. The summer heat will put the pressure on these rooks, some who find themselves in the thick of divisional title races. Adjusting to MLB ball has been seamless them for these five newcomers. Current trends in the memorabilia industry has shifted to “hot market” sales where champions, rookies and breakout players are fetching the most clicks and sales. Every crop of rookies are different but with two of our top five crushing baseballs for the Bronx Bombers, lots of attention and dollars are being spent on them. Injuries certainly put a damper on the “Hype Train” but Shohei Ohtani still has dazzled the league enough to earn him the top spot on our list.

1. Shohei Ohtani has lived up to the hype for the 2018 Angels. Slugging over .535 while sporting a clean ERA around 3.00 is an accomplishment we have not seen in our lifetime. Spraining his UCL was the only thing to slow down the hype for Shohei autographs. His autographed baseballs are still fairly scarce on the market place and are selling for upwards of $500. With his arrival only a few weeks away, his stock will pick right back up across the industry. We expect Ohtani to be all the buzz at the this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

shohei_ohtani_los_angeles_angels_signed_autograph_mlb_signed_autograph_baseball_sports_memorabilia_jsa_certificate_of_authenticity_included_p1966360

2. Gleyber Torres was known as the piece the Cubs chose to part with for a chance at a World Series run. Gleyber has proved to be worth every mile per hour of Chapman’s blistering heater as he is the frontrunner to take home American League Rookie of the Year. Torres, who could legally sip his first Moscow Mule six months has stole the show in the Big Apple. Since his April 22nd call-up, he has been arguably the most productive second-baseman in the American League. Fans are hitting the virtual polls in droves to get Torres to the Midsummer Classic in Washington DC this month. Gleyber’s autographed items could have been scooped up cheap last season when he was on the shelf with a knee injury, now his memorabilia cannot be placed on your shelf for less than $200 American Dollars.

gleyber_torres_new_york_yankees_autographed_signature_mlb_autographed_signature_baseball_psa_dna_coa_p1974655

3. Juan Soto has been the least heralded of this top five but arguably the most efficient since his call-up to the Nationals. His signature is interesting, resembling a math problem where you solve for Juan divided by Soto. With Algebra being the furthest Math course I have, the answer to that equation is a popular signed baseball that retails for $150+. Perhaps overshadowed by other star power in the Nation’s capital – Bryce Harper, Max Scherzer and even Donald Trump, Soto is carving his niche on a team that could be changing come November. Soto is here to stay in the DC and projects to be a major national asset. In a little over a month of service, Juan Soto has kickstarted the Nats with an over 1.000 OPS. Soto’s plate discipline as a 19-year old is simply astonishing. At 19-year year’s old, the next election will be the first he can legally vote for so do him a favor and help vote Juan Soto into the All Star Game.

4. Ronald Acuna Jr. was the toast of Atlanta when he got the call in late April. Acuna Jr. proved himself worthy right off the bat, stroking a home run in only his second professional game. The Acuna moonshots kept coming, hitting five in his first month in the show. Currently on the DL, Acuna is preparing himself for a deep postseason run with the young Atlanta Braves. His signed baseballs were selling rapidly after each tape measure shot. If we have learned anything from the past, this would be the time to purchase his memorabilia because once healthy, it is only a matter of time until is among the best in the sport.

ronald_acuna_jr_hand_autographed_signature_oml_baseball_atlanta_braves_psa_dna_cert_p1980955

5. Miguel Andujar is the biggest surprise of this list. With the Yankees illustrious farm system, Andujar played the role of Babe – not the Bambino, the star of the 1995 film whose tagline reads, “A Little Pig Goes A long Way”. Miguel Andujar is no pig, but being overlooked in a stacked minor league system is exactly what he has been up until 2018. Andujar has found his power stroke in new Yankee Stadium, crushing 11 bombs in his first half season. Coming into the 2018 campaign, the hot corner was marked as a weakness for the Yankees, Andujar has not only filled the role but is thriving. Andujar’s signature is arguably the fullest of this group. His signed memorabilia will be a hot commodity if this group of Yankees makes a deep October rally.

Keep in mind, this list could change daily as these rookies are proving themselves on the most difficult stage on a nightly basis. For more information and many more signed baseballs, check out our current supply of authentic autographed baseballs.

MLB Top Players

Carlos Carrasco is a powerful pitcher who has been throwing very well for the Cleveland Indians in the past few years. A towering presence at 6’3” and 210 pounds, Carrasco uses his power to strike out batters and keep them off the plate. He is very popular in Cleveland and fans are consistently seeking signed and certified photography and equipment with Carlos Carrasco’s autograph.
Carrasco was originally signed as a free agent on November 25, 2003 by the Philadelphia Phillies, and played minor league and ML ball for the Phillies until he was traded in 2009 to the Cleveland Indians. He had a couple of tough injuries and Tommy John surgery, which kept him out of the lineup for all of 2012. He struggled a bit the next two years but then his health returned and he began showing his well-respected potential.
In 2016 Carrasco had a good year, pitching in 25 games and posted a W-L record of 11-8 with a 3.32 ERA. He improved his record in 2017, ending the year with a 18-6 W-L record – which was best in the American League — and a 3.29 ERA with 226 strikeouts.
Also in 2017, Carlos Carrasco joined a special club of pitchers when he pitched what is known as an “immaculate inning,” which means he struck out the side with the minimum nine pitches.
Carrasco also came as close as a pitcher can come to joining another special group in 2015 when he was throwing a no-hitter in the ninth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays, but unfortunately gave up a two-out, two-strike single.
Take a look at some very nice autographed MLB photos and equipment by Carlos Carrasco, and then see the rest of our online vault.

Stephen Strasburg is a three-time All-Star pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. He stands 6’4” and weighs 235 pounds, an imposing figure coming off the mound with his leg kick. In seven seasons with the Nationals, he has posted a Win-Loss record of 84–45, and ERA of 3.07, and has whiffed 1,288 batters. In his debut game in 2010, he struck out 14 and instantly had a bevy of fans clamoring for a signed and authenticated # 37 red jersey.
Stephen Strasburg autographed photos and MLB equipment are amongst the most popular authenticated items we have, and his popularity just keeps growing. He has become somewhat of a poster boy for people who battle mental illnesses, particularly depression and anxiety. In addition, he had Tommy John surgery shortly after he started his career and missed most of 2011. He returned to form brilliantly in 2012, made the All-Star team and threw fastballs at 97 MPH. He has also led the National League in strikeouts (2014), and won the Dick Howser Trophy in 2009.
Strasburg’s last two years have shown stability and improvement, posting in 2016 a W/L record of 15-4 and an ERA of 3.60, and in 2017, the same record of 15-4 but his ERA dropped to 2.52, more than a whole point.
National’s fans are certainly looking forward to a Cy Young year from this young man, and if he keeps improving he may just do it in 2018.
Take a look at a few of our best picks below, showing off some of the best Stephen Strasburg autographed photos and MLB equipment. The take a tour of our online vault and see the rest of his collectibles and the rest of the star National players too.

Manuel Margot plays center field for the San Diego Padres with an arsenal of talents that could give the Fantastic Four a run for their money. Super speed on the bases, hard-hitting right handed batter, terrific outfield defense and an arm like a cannon that is accurate as a lightning bolt.
Initially, his introduction to Major League Baseball (MLB) came when the Boston Red Sox signed Margot as a free agent from the Dominican Prospect League in 2011, for which he nabbed an $800,000 bonus at the age of 17. He started his MLB career with the Red Sox in 2012.
In his season debut, Margot earned Red Sox Minor League Latin Program Player of the Year honors, after batting a .285 with 38 stolen bases in 68 games, which earned him a spot on the Red Sox’ DSL All-Star team. He is very patient at the plate for a young player, walking even more often than he struck out. His record in 2012 was 36 walks and 25 hits in 260 plate appearances.
Margot played the next two years for various levels of the Red Sox’ farm league teams, and performed very well. He was elected as a member of the World Team for the Futures Game prior to the Major League All-Star Game. However, in 2015, the Sox traded Margot to the San Diego Padres
He did well in his first minor league year with San Diego, and they brought him up to the majors in early season of 2016.
In 2017, he had a full year with the Padres and finished the season hitting .263 with a high on-base percentage and 13 home runs. He also came in sixth in the NL Rookie of the Year voting.
The Padres and fans expect a lot from the coming 2018 season from Manuel Margot, and we will have his most premium signed sports collectibles for you, the MLB fan and collector.

Talk about dominant pitching? Then talk about Max Sherzer, now with the Washington Nationals. I mean, what can you say about a MLB pitcher who starts a season with a 13-0 record? How about starting a season at 19-1? So good it’s “sick.” How about three – yes three – Cy Young Awards? Yeah, sick. More than 2,000 career strikeouts? Crazy good. And why is a Max Sherzer authenticated autograph worth so much and hold its value so well? Here are a few more reasons:
A five-time All-Star as a pitcher? Yessir. A three-time league leader in wins? Two-time NL leader in strikeouts? Yup. Oh yeah. Two no-hitters? Yup. Did he throw an amazing 20 strikeouts in a nine-inning game? Yup, sure did – and tied the record. One last thing: Did he ever pitch the elusive “immaculate inning”? Sure did, on May 14, 2017. That is nine strikes and three outs in one inning. Immaculate. What else is there to say about Max Sherzer besides the huge statement made by his $210 million dollar contract? I would simply say, “Keep going Max.”
A nice pitching tidbit about Max: How would you like to pitch a perfect game in the major leagues into the ninth inning, face the last batter, and hit him with a pitch? Well, Max Sherzer did just that in 2015. Many observers said the batter leaned into the pitch, but what could Max do? Well, Max whiffed the last batter and got the no-hitter anyway. I don’t think anyone bought that (intentionally unnamed batter) a drink that night. Incredibly, Max Scherzer threw another no-hitter later that year, striking out 17 (nine in a row at one point), walking none, and hitting no one with a pitch. Why was that also not a perfect game? A throwing error by an (unnamed) teammate, that’s why. I’ll bet no one bought that guy a drink either.
Check out some of our amazing Max Scherzer autographed memorabilia (below), licensed and / or authenticated. Then enter the Max Scherzer vault and get yourself or a friend a nice signed piece of equipment that will hold its value long beyond his entry into the MLB Hall of Fame, and surely rise in value drastically when he is voted in, very likely in his first year of eligibility. Own a piece of a real pitching legend of the legendary major league baseball diamond – Max Sherzer.

This three-time All-Star plays third base for the Toronto Blue Jays and won the AL MVP in his first year with the Blue Jays (2015) after being traded by the Oakland Athletics. He was voted to the All-Star team in 2015 also, garnering the most votes by fans, who clamor for his signed and authenticated MLB memorabilia. All of our Josh Donaldson autographed baseball collectibles are authenticated or certified, and carry their value like a blue-chip stock. This guy makes the phone ring off the hook as people search for the best certified equipment and photos signed by Josh Donaldson. He is so popular with fans that when he came to bat either at home or away games, the fans would chant, “M-V-P! M-V-P!”
Besides what you read above, in 2015 Josh Donaldson also led the American League in runs scored and RBIs that year, won the Hank Aaron Award and the Silver Slugger Award. Goes to show, a change of teams and location can do wonders sometimes.
In good form in 2017, Donaldson hit 33 HR, had a .270 BA and drove in 78 RBI. His fans expect a great year from this complete player, and we expect his value to rise in the world of authenticated MLB collectibles.
Take a look at a few select items below that are autographed by slugger Josh Donaldson, and then check out our online collection of authenticated baseball memorabilia from the 1800s through today.

Not many major league baseball players get to start a career with the super-charged energy and winning ways that Kris Bryant has since winning Rookie of the Year just two years ago in 2015.
Kris Bryant plays third base for the Chicago Cubs, who finally won a World Series for their diehard fans – no pun intended – since many of them have long passed on as they waited since 1908 for a World Series win, the last time the Cubs held the crown.
So, it’s no surprise that this World Series winner who is already a two-time All-Star, and was also the NL MVP in 2016 – the same year he won the Hank Aaron Award, annually given to the top hitter in each league, is a fan favorite.
According to sales on Major League Baseball’s official website, Kris Bryant had the best-selling jersey in all of baseball during the 2015 regular season. We at Sports Collectibles.com receive a tremendous amount of inquiries about Kris Bryant signed MLB memorabilia and we have quite a collection of his best stuff. His autographed photos, equipment and other licensed memorabilia is quite the treasure trove, including a 24-karat gold autographed baseball!
In addition to the accolades above, Kris Bryant also was awarded the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy in his short but illustrious career. He was selected 2nd overall in the 2013 MLB draft and hasn’t looked back since.
Few players in baseball – or any sport for that matter – have a collection of autographed MLB memorabilia as special and unique as Kris Bryant. (If I could afford to, this is the guy I would invest in). Take a look over these three selections below, and then gaze in wonder at the entire Kris Bryant collection in our online vault. (Hint: Look for Joe Maddon).

This hard-throwing, 6’6” left-handed hurler for the Boston Red Sox is a bona fide Major League Baseball star, and his autographed baseball collectibles are in big demand by fans and investors alike. We at sportscollectibles.com have a great collection of Chris Sale baseball memorabilia including equipment and color action photos, all genuine and certified authentic. His value continues to rise and all of his authenticated MLB memorabilia maintains and / or grows in esteem each season.
A very powerful pitcher, he strikes out as many batters as any pitcher out there, and has great speed and control, even as big as he is. Red Sox fans call him “The Condor,” likely because he looks like a giant bird when all 6’6” of his lean body is spread in the middle of his delivery.
A six-time All-Star, “The Condor” is also a two-time American League (AL) leader in strikeouts and is always near the top of the list in other years. As of this writeup (winter 2018), he is baseball’s career leader in strikeout-to-walk ratio with a 5.12. He has not yet won a Cy Young Award but has been in the top five in six different years. Pretty damned good.
“The Condor” looks like he’s heading for a possible Cy Young Award this year (2018). In looking at his last two years’ performances, we can see he still has all of his power and ball control. In 2016, he went 17-10 , and in 2017, he posted a better W/L record at 17-8 (4th best in the league) with a 2.90 ERA, and a major league leading 308 strikeouts.
And Chris Sale’s career record entering the 2018 season is nothing to sneeze at. His W/L record is 91–58, his ERA is 2.98 and he has 1,552 strikeouts, which he holds the record for reaching 1,500 strikeouts in the fewest games. With his health in good order, the Red Sox and Sale’s legion of fans expect a great year if the Red Sox give him the runs he needs.
Take a look at a few of our select MLB collectibles signed by Chris Sale and certified. Then peruse the rest of our offerings online.

Corey Kluber, aka “Klubot,” has some of the most valuable signed and authenticated MLB memorabilia out there. Frankly, some of the outstanding Corey Kluber autographed baseball equipment in our collection is under-priced, and the spring of 2018 is the perfect time to make an investment because I think he’ll win 20 games this year, and his values will only rise.
Kluber was drafted in 2007 by the San Diego Padres, where he languished as a pitcher mostly in the minor leagues until he was traded to the Cleveland Indians toward the season’s end in 2010, a fortuitous trade for the Indians. He made his debut in 2011 for Cleveland, and it is a fact that the Padres made a grave error in judgment when they traded “Klubot.” As a starting pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, Corey Kluber stands tall at 6’4” and 215 pounds, which makes him an imposing figure coming off the mound with that two-seam fastball.
Here are a few reasons why I day that the Padres made a grave error: In six years with the Indians, Kluber was voted an All-Star pitcher twice (2016, 2017), won the American League (AL)Cy Young Award twice (2014, 2017), was the AL wins leader twice (2014, 2017), had the AL’s lowest ERA in 2017, and those are just the highlights.
Let’s take a capsulized look at his past two years in the majors. In 2016 Corey Kluber posted a W/L record of 18-9, an ERA of 3.14. In 2017, Kluber had the same amount of wins but had five less losses. He pitched in 29 games, had an amazing W/L record of 18-4, and dropped his ERA almost a full point to 2.25, whiffing 265 batters along the way.
Cleveland fans cannot wait to see what this mound master does in 2018, which if he stays in form, will surely raise the value of his already well-esteemed autographed MLB memorabilia.
Take a look below at a few of our primo MLB collectibles signed by All-Star pitcher Corey Kluber and authenticated by some of the best houses in the business. I would jump on any signed Cy Young Award memorabilia that is autographed by Corey Kluber. Feel free to peruse the rest of our stellar collection of baseball collectibles online in our photo vaults.

After a great college career with North Carolina State University where he was named All-American 2nd and 3rd team. As a junior in 2014, he hit .321 with eight home runs and 26 stolen bases. Turner was also named the winner of the Brooks Wallace Award, given to the best shortstop in NCAA’s Division. Now in the majors, his likeable boyish demeanor and sparkling play at shortstop has his propelled his autographed equipment and photos to the top of the Washington Nationals signature requests.
After college, Turner was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2014, going in the first round as the 13th overall selection. He was brought up from the minors towards the end of 2015 and got in a few hits with the Washington Nationals, who picked him up in a trade.
In 2016, he played in the minors, and was called back to the Nationals in July. He played outfield and shortstop, and won the Major League Baseball Rookie of the Month Award in the National League for his performance in August 2016, hitting .357 on the month with five home runs and 11 stolen bases, and finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year Award voting.
In 2016, Trea Turner had 307 at-bats, 105 hits, 53 runs and a BA of .342. In 2017 Turner played shortstop for the Nationals all season, and despite missing 20 days due to injuries, he had 412 at-bats, 117 hits, 75 runs and a BA of .284.
In addition to getting on base quite a bit, his speed helps him steal bases and score runs that win games. He has 81 stolen bases in his three years in the majors. Of note, he stole four bases in three innings, and stole four again in another game in 2017, a club record. With a career BA of .304, great speed and a tight bat, the Nationals and his fans look forward to s stellar 2018 from this talented young shortstop.
Take a look at the three select items below, autographed by Trea Turner and authenticated. We have MLB equipment, action color photography and more. Then see our entire collection online.

Zack Greinke is the second-highest paid Major League Baseball player by salary, which is $31,876,966 annually. He is a four-time All-Star despite having health problems he had to battle for several years. He had the lowest ERA in the majors in 2009 and 2015, and won four Golden Gloves.
Zack is very popular with fans due to his winning ways and persistence and bravery when he was ill. Zack Greinke’s signed baseball collectibles are always in demand and hold their value.
With more than 2,000 strikeouts in his career, and the games he wins often without much offense behind him, this dominant pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks is looking every bit the Cy Young Award winner he was in 2009 as he enters 2018 spring training this month.
In 2017, he threw a for a 17-7 Win-Loss record, an ERA of 3.20 and 215 strikeouts. Big improvement over 2016 when he had a W/L record of 13-7 and a higher ERA of 4.37. Also in 2017, he helped the Diamondbacks to the NLDS for the first time since 2011.
An interesting note on Zack Greinke’s pitching prowess is when he pitched 39 scoreless innings in a row between the end of the 2008 season and the start of 2009. That’s four and one-third scoreless games!

Starling Marte is an All-Star outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates and in the five years since his 2012 debut, he has made his mark starting with a home run on the first pitch ever thrown to him in the major leagues! In addition to being an All-Star, Marte is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, and will just keep improving. In 2016, Marte had a stellar year, hitting .311 for the season with 152 hits and 71 runs scored. Then in 2017, he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug and was suspended for 80 games.
Despite the setback, Marte is certainly going to want to reestablish his prowess and place on the Pirates in this new 2018 season, and we look forward to seeing him blossom.
As one professional baseball observer noted, Starling Marte is an exciting player to watch, has very good athleticism and speed to go along with the ability to hit. The scary thing is that he is starting to mature physically and is starting to develop power as well. His speed-power-hit combo is going to make him a very fun player to see mature. I couldn’t agree more.
