Chicago White Sox Memorabilia

Chicago White Sox Autographed Memorabilia
Fans do not like the term, rebuilding but that is exactly what the Chicago White Sox are doing at the exact moment in time but there’s a rich history for the pale hose in Chicago. A history that includes three World Series titles, countless Hall of Famers and plenty of baseball signed for fans. The Chicago, Illinois based franchise was established in 1901. The White Sox are one of the American League’s charter franchise and has been playing ball on the southside of Chicago for over a century. Top moments of the Sox franchise include the 2005 World Series and the careers of Harold Baines, Frank Thomas and old-timer, Nellie Fox. A low-point in the franchise was the “Black Sox Scandal” following the 1919 World Series, where many players were accused of shaving points and fixing game results. The White Sox operate as Chicago’s second-team as far as fan interaction and attendance. The rival Cubs have been the lovable losers for years.

2005 World Series Champions
It has been almost a century since a Chicago based ball club hoisted the Commissioner’s Trophy. The 2005 Chicago White Sox shocked the sport with an unpredictable title run led by savvy veterans and true grit. The pale hose were led by the usual suspects during the 2000’s: Pierzynski, Konerko, Dye and Buehrle. Of course every World Series run has its unknown heroes. The southsiders suited up AJ Pierzynski, Paul Konerko, Tadahito Iguchi, Juan Uribe, Joe Crede, Scott Podsednik, Aaron Rowand, Jermaine Dye & Carl Everett on the night they clinched the World Series against the Houston Astros. The pitching staff did not light up the radar guns, but consistently shut down the American League. The pitching staff was led by Freddy Garcia, Jose Contreras, Jon Garland and fan-favorite, Mark Buehrle. The ’05 Sox were managed by Ozzie Guillen.

Chicago White Sox Farm System
From worst to first. In the 2016 offseason, the Chicago White Sox were dealing like a baseball card trader. Swapping their top pieces to completely overhaul a tepid minor league system. The Sox acquired the biggest prospects in the game: Lucas Giolito, Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Carson Fulmer & Reynaldo Lopez. Giolito & Moncada are the new face(s) of a franchise that was in dire need of change. GM Kenny Williams made some trades to get younger and it will take some time to see dividends but there is no question the talent is now on its way to Chicago.

Fans are excited for the arrival of top prospects: Eloy Jimenez, Ian Happ, and Jeimer Candelario. The Cubs run into a good problem, not having any spots to play these young players. Maybe Theo Epstein has some tricks up his sleeve to swap for veteran pieces during a pennant chase like he did in 2016 when he traded #1 Prospect Gleyber Torres to New York (AL) for Aroldis Chapman. Chapman was a key contributor on the World Series championship team.
