Chris Davis “Kick 6” Helmet

The game-worn helmet from the most memorable play in Iron Bowl history was sold in an auction this week. The Auburn helmet worn by Chris Davis sold for $47,190 in a New Jersey based auction.  Last season, Chris Davis shocked the sports world when he returned a missed field goal 109 yards to be #1 Alabama at the last second.  The sale is the highest purchased college football auction item ever recorded.  The founder of the auction company who listed the item added, “This helmet from one of the most historic and notable plays in college football goes down as one of the highest priced pieces of collegiate sports memorabilia ever sold, and certainly the most valuable that has been auctioned from a player or event that occurred within the past 20 years.”  The “Kick 6” play does not plan on going anywhere as Davis items continue to sell.
