Puck Has Been Dropped

With all major sports overlapping in mid to late October, sometimes hockey does not get the coverage it is due.  With equal coverage or not, hockey is back.  One week into the fresh NHL season and we’re seeing a lot of the big names off to a hot start: Chicago, Montreal and Minnesota.  Hockey ratings has been growing year after year in the US.  Some of this can be explained by resurgence in postseason by major markets like Chicago and Los Angeles.  Analysts have picked a few “sleeper” teams to keep an eye on late in the season – Tampa Bay and Columbus felt that description. Young core, quality goaltending with some playoff experience. If you are more of a “player” driven fan, then you and I both are rooting for health for all the stars – especially Sidney Crosby who had missed significant chunks of time over the past few years.  Alex Ovechkin is poised for another monster year. And then there are those guys from Chicago – Kane and Toews have been magnificent in the playoffs and have Chicago thinking about hoisting the trophy again.  Plenty of intrigue this season and we will keep you posted on all NHL news.  Make sure to shop our great selection of NHL memorabilia.
