We here at Sports Collectibles are finally caught up after a very busy Midwest Sports Spectacular held in Columbus, Ohio this January. The event featured photo opps and a chance to get autographs from some Ohio State Buckeyes players, as well as several other athletes from the past and present. The event was a major success as the autograph show continues to grow year after year. For those who aren’t living in Ohio, Sports Collectibles now has a great variety of autographed memorabilia from the athletes present at the show!
OSU Buckeyes fans and collectors flooded the event looking to add signatures of Ohio State stars entering the 2017 NFL Draft as well as former OSU players and Heisman winners. We had Archie Griffin, Eddie George, and Troy Smith on hand signing Ohio State Buckeyes logo footballs, mini and full size helmet, photos, and more! Before the NFL Combine got underway, OSU stars Malik Hooker, Raekwon McMillan, and Curtis Samuel were the headliners of the 2016 Buckeyes team. Current NFL players from Ohio State’s 2014 National Championship title signing autographs were Joey Bosa, Cardale Jones, Darron Lee, Braxton Miller, Joshua Perry, Jalin Marshall, and more! There were several Ohio State Buckeyes icons on hand signing autographs for fans, including the 3 Heisman Trophy winners, Chris Spielman, Dan Wilkinson, Santonio Holmes, Joe Germaine, David Boston, Orlando Pace, Mike Tomczak, and former head coach Earle Bruce. OSU fans were very pleased with the turnout and a chance to meet some of their favorite former Buckeyes! The only thing missing from the show was Ezekiel Elliott, who set the new autograph record in 2016 with over 650 signature signed to the public.
The Midwest Sports Spectacular was the place to be even for those in attendance who aren’t huge Buckeyes fans. For the football fans and collectors, former Browns fan favorite Bernie Kosar was signing autographs, as well as Bo Jackson, Jerome Bettis, Major Harris, and Browns second-year receiver Corey Coleman. Pete Rose was signing for the Cincinnati Reds fans and collectors looking to add a Rawlings Official MLB baseball with the inscription “I’m Sorry I Bet on Baseball,” or “Hit King.” Olympian Gabby Douglas was also on hand signing photos for fans.
