The Sports Day that was August 28, 2018:
As the MLB season continue to get closer and closer to the end of the season, every start counts ever more as the Cy Young race continues. Once again Mets ace Jacob deGrom proves why he should be the NL Cy Young winner. DeGrom pitched 8 innings last night, allowing only 1 run and striking out 10! Aaron Nola also took the mound last night as he pitched 7 quality innings allowing 1 run and striking out 8! Get both of their signed sports memorabilia as sportscollectibles.com

The AL East playoff race continued as the Yankees and Red Sox both had close games last night. The Yankees were down 4-0 midway through the 6th inning but were determined to make a comeback. Rookie sensation Miguel Andujar hit his 22nd homer of the season which got his season total to 22 and got his 74th RBI of the season. After getting 2 more in the 8th inning to tie the game up from an Aaron Hicks homer it was going to be a battle in the 9th inning. Yankees pinch hitter Neil Walker steps up to the plate, and a few pitches later the ball left the field and Walker hit a walk off over the right field fence. This meant one thing for the Red Sox, they need to win to stay 6.5 games up on the Yankees. And they did just that in an offensive battle. The Red Sox topped the Miami Marlins 8-7. Autographed Mookie Betts Signed Baseballs have skyrocketed during his 2018 AL MVP campaign. Top risers in the National League are Shortstop Javier Baez autographed products. The Chicago Cubs are the top selling team and hold the best record in the National League. Autographed Cubs baseballs are great collector’s items.

Red Sox hope Mookie's big 2018 season finishes with a bang as they look to hold off the Yankees in the AL East race.

In other News:
Its that time of the year again when Pre-Season football is in full swing and the starters have played their 20 snaps of the season and now we get to see all the back-ups fight for that last spot on the roster. Most starting positions are decided before the season has begun, but there may be some players who are really trying to challenge their veteran counterparts. The biggest QB battle is between rookie QB Baker Mayfield and veteran Tyrod Taylor. Both these QB options have very high ceilings with their explosive ability to run as well as their ability to throw the long ball. But which will win the job? Which will give the Browns the best chance to win? One thing is for sure, both of their signed sports collectibles are available as sportscollectibles.com.

The next QB battle might not be as close of a call but is a very interesting scenario. The Ravens gave Joe Flacco the big bucks but rookie QB Lamar Jackson has been showing his skills throughout the pre-season and wants to become the starter sooner rather than later. His ability to run is something that interest head coaches and the offensive coordinator. Lets see if the Ravens get off to a slow start if they will jump to Lamar to jumpstart that offense. The Sports Day that was August 27, 2018.
Last nights MLB matchups were filled with top pitchers. Strasburg, Cole, Syndergaard, Lester and Tanaka all took the rubber, some looking to help their team make the playoffs and others just looking to spoil their opponents late season run. One thing was for sure, Gerrit Cole was not going to let the Athletics get ahead of them in the standings. The Red Sox had the day off yesterday which gave their veteran slugger J.D Martinez a day off. Martinez is leading the MLB in average (.337) and RBI’s (110) and is only 1 homer behind Athletics slugger Khris Davis who has 39 home runs already this season. Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor leads the MLB in runs with 106 as he continues to prove why he is a top 3 shortstop in the MLB. All these top hitters in the MVP are also looking to make a final push for NL or AL MVP as the season is coming down to the final stretch. Even though there will be only 1 NL and 1 AL MVP, all these athletes signed sports memorabilia can be found at sportscollectibles.com. In financial news, Odell Beckham Jr. is the highest paid WR of all-time. The Giants locked up all-pro on Monday to multi-year contracting nearing $100M.

The NL MVP race is tight, but Braves star first basemen Freddie Freeman looks to have the lead right now. Freeman is hitting .313 with 20 home runs and 78 RBIs. Freeman also has added 8 stolen bases to his total numbers. Next up. Rockies star third basemen Nolan Arenado who is known just as much for his glove as his bat. Hitting .308 on the season with 31 homers and 91 RBIs this season. Third up in the NL MVP race is Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain. Cain doesn’t have the loud numbers as some other hitters but he sure knows how to get on base and make stellar plays in the outfield. Cain has an OBP of .398 and has 24 stolen bases this season. The Cubs smacked the Mets around and NL Player of the Week, Anthony Rizzo, deposited a long ball to help his case for the new week.

Freddie Freeman is adding to his NL MVP case.

The AL MVP race is filled with guys w ho can both flash the leather and hit the long ball. First up, Angels superstar Mike Trout. Trout can do it all, with an OBP of .462, 31 homers, 87 runs and 21 stolen bases. Trout is no doubt, a once in a generational player. Next up is Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts. Betts has an OBP of .422 with 104 runs, 27 homers and 26 stolen bases. Finally, is Indians star Jose Ramirez who has an OBP of .403 and has 37 homers.
